Calling in sick is understandable and an action we expect employees to take if they test positive for COVID or are feeling any symptoms. However, employees coordinating with one another to call in sick together is unacceptable and will not be tolerated. I am writing to you today about the return to school and in-person instruction on Tuesday, January 11, I care very much about the health and safety of all of our students and staff, and I do want to wish you well and I hope that you are in good health.
We can all do our part to ensure schools and the district offices are safe for us to open back up tomorrow. It is with great excitement that I welcome you all physically back to school for the school year! I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to lead a school community with such amazing teachers, students and parents. This last school year has been the most challenging time for many of us. The school year was the first time in the history of Vista High School that we started off the year through distance learning.
Although the beginning of the school had many uncertainties, one thing I was sure of was that by working together as one Lynwood family, we would persevere. Although we are not yet completely over the pandemic, we have made major academic gains by minimizing disruptions to student learning.
At Vista, we continue to find ways to maximize student learning therefore we will continue to keep updated with state and county guidelines and implement safety protocols in order to keep everyone that enters our school safe.
During this new year, we will explore, improve and put in place new systems to ensure all students are college and career ready, and furthermore, we will continue to support our scholars to achieve their personal aspirations. I plan on continuing to building strong relationships with parents, students, staff, and community partners.
