Autocad title block template a4

Hide all layers except Defpoints. There should be nothing on layer Defpoints. Move all remaining items on layer Defpoints to template layers. Note: move document text to appropriate discipline text layer e. There are only three text styles used on the template although it is acceptable to change the text size if necessary: Standard, Bold, Title.

All three text styles are Tahoma Font, non-annotative. One Community CAD standards do not use annotative text. Here are additional resources and tips we feel may be useful. Instead of memorizing short cuts, think about what you want to do and begin typing.

Example: You want to hatch an area. If you do not immediately see the command you expected, the window that pops up is scrollable. See if the command you are looking for is further down the list. This is also a good way to learn new commands since AutoCAD populates a list of commands using the letters you enter.

We created a standardized AutoCAD template so that our file names, drawing scales, symbols, layers and layer names, and colors and line weights would match for all our open source designs and the open source designs of others using our designs as a starting point and wanting us to share their work too.

The basic instructions for use with a new drafting project are included in the file download too. For use, you can download AutoCAD and try it with their free day trial. You create a new model and make the old one obsolete. That, in essence, is the higher service to which we are all being called.

Any ideas how to convince other people that we should be sticking to the standards who have the argument that 'other people do it so why cant we?

I suppose we're where I am lucky in that a Standard takes precedence over anyone's personal opinion. If you have a lot of bodies in an office then that is a lot of different opinions. Who's to say that 1. Or 1mm? Hopefully if you show management a copy of the standard then they should back you up.

If not you could always resort to my personal favourite of stamping my feet and crying. Don't get me wrong I know that there are a lot of instances where an industry norm is acceptable over a standard however I do not recall ever seeing text below 2.

In general we usually have A1 drawings and print them A3 for the fab shop. What industry are you involved in? Personal Charm, cajoling, lots of training time with the troops and peer pressure from a group of dedicated fellow users that will not accept anything less always helps. Management sets the rules in the office too: do you have management's support and willingness to caution or reprimand repeat offenders? A stick when a carrot doesn't work is sometimes the only option to remind everyone whom they work for I am in a 'flat structure' company so have no one has ruling over anyone else except the directors, its very much who can shout loudest the majority of the time.

I am the CAD Lead for the CAD team however, its a different team of people who have started doing the schematics which is where the resistance lies but they are less willing to hear my opinion because I dont really have much to do with the schematic drawings normally. The way I see it Therefore if I was the Lead you are the Lead so you should have a lot of say in it I would get everyone together and tell them we're having problems and the way to fix it is to comply with the Standard.

I doubt very much anyone would be able to contradict your reason or way ahead. Any drawings you get that are different, hand back and get them redone. They'll soon get the message. Obviously, don't use my technique of going in head first..

Gave up going round in circles with the same argumentative points coming from the other side and went to the technical director. Thankfully he was on my side and pointed out as a professional company we should just follow the standards.
